Dubai Run 2026: Date, Routes, Race-Day Tips & Essentials to Pack
04 October 2026
Once a year, Dubai's busiest highway goes quiet for cars and loud for runners. Dubai Run 2026 returns on Sunday, 22 November 2026 as one of the headline events of the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge — and whether you're aiming for a personal best or walking the 5km with family, a little preparation makes the morning far more enjoyable.
Here's everything you need to know: the date, routes and timings, how to prepare, what to bring on race morning, and a few NexuraCart essentials that make training, recovery and the trip to Sheikh Zayed Road easier.

Which route should you choose: 5km or 10km?
The 5km route is ideal for first-timers, families, children and anyone who wants to soak up the skyline at an easy pace. It takes you through the heart of Downtown Dubai with Burj Khalifa views along the way.
The 10km route is for regular runners who want the full Sheikh Zayed Road experience — a rare chance to run down the middle of a 14-lane highway past the Museum of the Future and the city's tallest towers.
Not sure? Pick the 5km. You can walk, jog or run it, and you'll still get the same once-a-year atmosphere.
How to prepare in the weeks before Dubai Run
1. Build up gradually
With about seven weeks to go, there's plenty of time. Aim for three short sessions a week, adding a few minutes each week. If you're new to running, mix jogging and walking intervals. Dubai Fitness Challenge's 30 minutes a day for 30 days (30x30) is a perfect framework.
2. Train early, while it's cooler
November mornings in Dubai are pleasant, but humidity can still be high. Train at the same time as the race — early morning — so your body gets used to it.
3. Don't skip your warm-up and strength work
Two short strength sessions a week (glutes, hips, core) help many runners feel steadier on longer distances. A simple resistance band routine at home takes 10 minutes.
4. Plan your recovery
Rest days, hydration and sleep matter as much as the runs themselves. Keep cold water ready after every session.
Race-morning checklist: what to bring to Dubai Run
- Your race bib and registration confirmation
- Comfortable, already-worn running shoes (never brand-new on race day)
- Breathable clothing and a cap
- A small water bottle (and plenty of water before you leave home)
- Phone, charged, with your metro or parking plan saved
- A light layer for the early-morning wait
- A change of clothes and freshen-up kit for after
Getting there: Sheikh Zayed Road closes to traffic in the early hours, so plan to use the Dubai Metro or arrive very early. Check RTA announcements for closures and extended metro timings closer to the date.
